Our High Performance Partnerships (HPPs) are centres of excellence for wheelchair basketball in the UK, providing world-class sporting and academic opportunities for male and female elite wheelchair basketball players.

Based at four of the UK’s leading University institutions and sporting franchises,

• Cardiff Metropolitan University
• Loughborough University
• University of East London
• University of Worcester

The Partnerships will act as hubs to incubate and develop future and current world-class wheelchair basketball athletes and increase access to the Paralympic talent pathways across the UK.

The HPPs will each be home to a Women’s Premier League team, and each partnership will also be recruiting elite players for their University BUCS teams (mixed) and eventually BWB National League teams (mixed), with each University appointing a dedicated wheelchair basketball coach to lead their teams.

Alongside the sporting opportunities available at each HPP, the partnerships have been created to facilitate the opportunity for world-class athletes adopt a dual career approach, providing academic opportunities, including scholarship programmes at each University.
