Wheelchair basketball became an important part of Frances’s life from the first time she officiated the game. Attracted by the spirit and dedication of the athletes, Frances continued in the sport and earned her international (IWBF) officiating qualification in 2005. Frances has been an active member of BWB for nearly ten years, and has officiated at numerous tournaments and National Championships. She is a referee tutor, and has been a Senior Referee at numerous events, providing guidance and feedback to fellow officials.
When not on a basketball court, Frances is a Senior Lecturer in air transport at the University of Westminster teaching at the post-graduate level.
For many years, Frances was also actively involved in rugby as a player, referee, club fixtures secretary, and VP for women’s development in the regional association. This gave her a well-rounded understanding of the various facets of sports governance and the interconnected aspects of sports administration and development.
