Team England have announced their Men’s 3×3 and Women’s 3×3 teams set to represent at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games this month.
BWB to host 3x3 European Zonal qualifier for Glasgow 2026
British Wheelchair Basketball are proud to be hosting the IWBF 3×3 European Zonal Qualifier for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on April 4th at the University of Nottingham.
3×3 Wheelchair Basketball marks its second ever appearance at a Commonwealth Games at Glasgow 2026, having made its debut at Birmingham 2022.
Teams from Cyprus, England, Northern Ireland, and Wales will compete for one place per Men’s and Women’s competition. Scotland Men and Scotland Women have their route secured as hosts of the competition.
The University of Nottingham is a prestigious sporting venue, having provided an elite training base for GB performance squads in the build-up to both the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and the IWBF European Championships 2025. The competition will take place at the David Ross Sports Village, getting underway at 12:30 with the pool stages, and the finals from 4:45pm onward.
Played on half-court, 3×3 Wheelchair Basketball is a dynamic format of the game with teams having just 12 seconds to shoot during each phase of play. Games are played over one 10-minute period, with both teams in a race to score 21 points or more to end the game early. Fans at Nottingham will see world class skill and fast-paced action on display, with athletes giving their all to secure their place at Glasgow 2026.
