Inspire League

Inspire League

Creating opportunities for everyone to play, develop and enjoy wheelchair basketball in a supportive environment.

The Inspire League offers a welcoming platform for participation, designed for recreational teams who want to compete in a supportive and developmental setting.

Localised competition groups mean teams take turns hosting a day of matches, while new volunteers, coaches, and officials are encouraged and supported to progress through the sport’s workforce pathway.

With an emphasis on positivity, inclusivity, and progression, every game day is built around giving players, coaches, and officials the chance to grow and enjoy the sport together.

  • Local or regional competition structure
  • More inclusive and flexible approach
  • Tailored support package for new teams
  • Each team hosts only one event day per season
  • Groups of 3-6 teams per competition
  • National entry through British Wheelchair Basketball

The ethos of the Motability Scheme Inspire League is to nurture a positive sporting environment where:

  • Everyone has an equal opportunity to play and develop
  • Respect and kindness are shared values
  • Physical and mental wellbeing are supported
