GB Men and GB Women have both advanced to the semi-finals of the Ottawa 2026 IWBF World Championships following their quarter-final wins. Both semi-finals will be played Thursday 17th September in a back-to-back thriller for GB fans.

GB Men opened the competition with two strong wins against Turkiye and Argentina before being defeated by a strong Australian side in their final game of the pool. In their Last 16 game, GB Men took the win 69:47 against the Netherlands to advance to the next stage of the competition. In the quarter-finals, GB Men delivered a remarkable comeback win against a fierce Japan side and sent Great Britain into the semi-finals.

GB Women concluded their group stage with a thrilling double overtime game against hosts Canada, narrowly losing by one point after a searing 3pt buzzer beater shot from Katie Morrow which took us to 92:91. Overall, GB Women won four of the five games they played in the pool, defeating Brazil, China, Spain and Australia. Their dominant 81:38 win over Germany secures a place in the semi-finals to begin their fight for a medal.
