Nominations are now open for British Wheelchair Basketball’s Community Awards 2026. The Community Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of highly dedicated members of our sporting community.

At the community level of our sport, we recognise the importance of maintaining a reliable, skilled and committed workforce. These individuals enable our sport to happen, whether that’s through delivering excellence in a club environment, developing athletes through coaching, or utilising their expertise for the good of the sport.

As a governing body, we consider it to be important to formally acknowledge these individuals and allow the community to make their own nominations to raise awareness of stories that need telling. These awards specifically cover the 2025-26 season.

The BWB Community Awards feature five categories, encompassing both individual achievements and organisational support for the sport. The awards feature various categories, each with specific criteria to ensure a fair and thorough evaluation process.

The categories are as follows:

• Community Coach of the Year
• Official of the Year
• Young Volunteer of the Year
• Club of the Year
• Services to Wheelchair Basketball
