British Wheelchair Basketball announces RGK as Official Wheelchair Partner
RGK, a leading manufacturer of sports wheelchairs, has been announced as the new Official Wheelchair Partner for British Wheelchair Basketball (BWB), the national governing body for wheelchair basketball.
As part of the partnership, RGK will work alongside BWB to deliver technical expertise, repair services and specialist performance wheelchair knowledge across programmes and key events, helping athletes perform at their best.
The collaboration will focus on strengthening participation and performance across the sport, supporting players from grassroots participation through to elite competition. By combining RGK’s innovation in sports wheelchair design with BWB’s national reach, the partnership aims to enhance how players access and experience high-performance equipment.
RGK will provide technical support and specialist wheelchair expertise at selected training camps and events, helping athletes optimise setup, maintenance and on-court performance.
The partnership will also see RGK support selected competitions and events throughout the season, offering on-site expertise and engaging directly with athletes and clubs to support ongoing development across wheelchair basketball.
The National Championships Finals, taking place on 16-17 May at Derby Arena, marks the first major milestone in the partnership. RGK will be present across the weekend, supporting one of the biggest fixtures as athletes, clubs and fans come together from across the UK.
Mike Prosser, Commercial Manager at RGK, commented: “We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with British Wheelchair Basketball and to be working alongside such a passionate and ambitious community.
“As a wheelchair manufacturer focused on performance and innovation, we understand how important the right equipment and technical support can be to an athlete’s confidence, comfort and performance on court.
“Sport has the power to build confidence, independence and community, and we’re excited to work more closely with athletes, clubs and the wider BWB network to continue supporting the growth of wheelchair basketball at every level.
“Being present at major events like the National Championships Finals also gives us a fantastic opportunity to connect directly with players and contribute to the sport in meaningful ways. We’re looking forward to what we can achieve together through this partnership.”
Justine Baynes, CEO at British Wheelchair Basketball, said: “We are very excited to be strengthening our partnership with RGK. Working together we can drive performance and provide technical support and promotional offers to our members. We hope everyone drops by their stand at the Nationals this weekend to learn about their products and services as our Official Wheelchair Partner.”
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to progressing the sport through innovation and inclusion, ensuring more athletes can access the right equipment, develop their performance and reach their full potential.
