IWBF Europe has awarded British Wheelchair Basketball the hosting rights for the 2027 European Championships, with the prestigious competition set to be hosted in the vibrant city of Liverpool.

British Wheelchair Basketball strongly condemns the invasion of Ukraine. Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine and our friends across the Ukrainian wheelchair basketball community.
We acknowledge and fully support the positions of UK Sport and British Paralympic Association, and we welcome and endorse the stance taken by International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF). The IWBF’s decision echoes our sentiment in the core values of wheelchair basketball: integrity, respect, and friendship. We join IWBF and the global sporting community in calling for a restoration of peace.
In line with the IWBF statement, British Wheelchair Basketball national teams will not compete against Russia or Belarus until further notice.
Our thoughts and strength are with the people of Ukraine in these deeply troubling and unsettling times.
