Ben Fox posts his highest score of the season to help Mideba secure back-to-back wins

Three of the top-five points scorers in Spain were GB players as Ben Fox posted his highest-score of the season to help Mideba Extremadura secure back-to-back wins in the Spanish League. 

Fox was the game’s top-scorer with 26 points as Mideba claimed their fourth victory of the season with an 87-54 win over Rincon Dental Amivel. 

Abdi Jama added 17 points to Mideba’s total while Phil Pratt and Gregg Warburton totalled 12 and 10 points, respectively. 

Thomas Smith featured for Amivel, scoring four points. 

Only Terry Bywater and Bidaideak Bilbao’s Asier Garcia Pereiro scored more than Fox’s 26 points during gameweek seven, with Bywater topping the Spanish points standings for the fourth time this season. 

Bywater scored 29 points – the gameweek’s joint-highest with Pereiro – in addition to 12 assists and nine rebounds as CD Ilunion continued their unbeaten start, thanks to a 48-76 win at Fundacion Grupo Norte. 

Gaz Choudhry continued his fine form with 21 points and 14 assists as BSR Amiab Albacete also maintained their 100 per cent winning record with a close 60-69 triumph over James MacSorley’s Gran Canaria. 

Lee Manning scored 11 points, while Kyle Marsh added four points. Harry Brown also featured for Albacete. 

James MacSorley totalled his highest points tally of the season, contributing 12 points to Gran Canaria’s total. 

There was also a season best points total for Lewis Edwards as Iberconsa Amfiv returned to winning ways with victory over CD Las Rozas FDI (43-76). Edwards scored 18 points, while Sam Mack scored his first points of the season with six. 

In Italy, Martin Edwards was in action twice in two days; top-scoring in both games for his side. On Thursday, he scored 26 points to help SSD Santa Lucia beat Amicacci Giulianova 64-70, before scoring 17 points on Saturday as Santa Lucia lost 43-80 to Cantu.

Ian Sagar’s Special Sport Bergamo returned to winning ways with a 58-53 victory over Amicacci Giulianova.

In Germany, Simon Brown’s RSV Lahn-Dill bounced back from their first defeat of the season with victory over Hannover United. Brown scored four points in their 85-59 win. 

Jim Palmer was in action for Rhine River Rhinos Wiesbaden as they lost 58-75 to Baskets 96 Rahden.
