Return to Play – Guidance

We are currently in STAGE 1 of British Wheelchair Basketball's Return to Play Guidance (please check the specific guidance for your country)

Please always adhere to latest Government and local Government directives.

The guidance within the Guidance document and the ‘Return to Play’ Matrix does not override any Government legislation or directives in place to manage the response to COVID-19. This includes the implementation of national or localised lockdowns. Should you be based in an area which is subject to a lockdown please adhere to Government and local Government directives.

The information on the ‘Return to Play’ Matrix and Guidance will be continuously reviewed, and updates published. Please always refer to the latest published documentation – the publishing date is written on the front page of both the Return to Play guidance and on the Return to Play Matrix.

England is currently in STAGE 1 of BWB’s Return to Play Guidance, allowing BWB Sanctioned Activity to resume outdoors for all participants, and indoor activity for disabled participants (disability sport exemption). Under-18s (disabled and non-disabled) can resume indoor activity from 12th April 2021, in line with Government exemptions.

All British Wheelchair Basketball Sanctioned Activity is suspended until further notice, with the exception of British Wheelchair Basketball Performance Programme (Elite Sport Training) which will be delivered in accordance with government guidance.

Scotland is currently in STAGE 1 of BWB’s Return to Play Guidance, allowing BWB Sanctioned Activity to resume outdoors for all participants.  

Wales:  https://gov.wales/coronavirus 

Under-18s can resume outdoor activity, in line with British Wheelchair Basketball’s Stage 1 Guidance. All other BWB Sanctioned Activity remains suspended in Wales, with the exception of British Wheelchair Basketball Performance Programme (Elite Sport Training) which will be delivered in accordance with government guidance.
