Minister of State for Disabled People reinstated by the UK Government
Statement by Justine Baynes, CEO of British Wheelchair Basketball
We’re delighted to hear that the government has reinstated the Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work. Working with Paralympics GB, we brought together over 70 sport and activity organisations to voice our concern about their decision to downgrade this post and we are in no doubt that our collective efforts were part of this decision.
We will continue to use our platform of sport to speak about issues affecting our community and hope that in this Paralympic year we can see real change to the societal narrative around disability.
