The Community Awards are designed to recognise and celebrate the achievements of highly dedicated members of our sporting community in the past season.
Making our sport happen!
In our most recent newsletter, we highlighted some of the key ways that you can get involved in our sport as an Official or coach. Whether you’re brand new to the sport, or looking to level up, we have a variety of routes for you to take.
Earning your refereeing qualification
Our Referee Qualification is designed for those brand new to Officiating. The qualification is a blend of webinars, online learning and face to face sessions, and includes 1:1 mentoring support to help you get going once you have completed the qualification.
The cost of the course is £150, but we are able to support learners with costs where there is a need, particularly to support groups identified in the British Wheelchair Basketball Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan.

The Referee Conversion Course is a blend of online learning and a one day face-to-face session. The cost of the course is £50, which includes your first year of membership with BWB. We currently have bursaries available to help with costs.
