Our Level 1 and Level 2 Coaching Courses are now open for sign‑ups. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on your experience, these courses will give you the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to support players at every stage of their development.

Level 1 Courses – One Full Day

1. Who are the Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses suitable for?
These courses are designed for anyone looking to develop their coaching skills.

  • Level 1 is ideal for new or aspiring coaches who want to support coached sessions.
  • Level 2 is aimed at coaches who are ready to lead their own sessions and take on greater responsibility.

No previous experience is required for Level 1, and Level 2 builds naturally on what you learn at Level 1.

2. What will I learn during the course?
You’ll gain a mix of practical coaching skills and theoretical understanding, including:

  • How to plan and deliver safe, inclusive and engaging sessions.
  • Technical and tactical knowledge relevant to the sport.
  • How to support players of different ages, abilities and experience levels.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.

Each course blends online learning (where relevant) with practical assessments to help you grow in confidence and competence.

3. What are the entry requirements for each level?

  • Level 1: Open to anyone aged 16+ with an interest in coaching.
  • Level 2: You’ll need to have completed a BWB recognised Level 1 coaching qualification (or equivalent experience) before progressing.

If you’re unsure which level is right for you, we’re happy to guide you.

4. How do I complete the qualification?
To pass the course, you’ll need to:

  • Attend all sessions (online and/or in person)
  • Complete the required coursework and e-learning
  • Demonstrate practical coaching competency during assessments.

Don’t worry, our tutors support you throughout the process to make sure you feel prepared and confident.

5. How do I sign up, and when will I receive confirmation?

Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive an email confirmation with full details of what to expect, what to bring, and how to prepare.

6. I have been confirmed a Workforce Grant, what do I do now?
If there is a course which you like the look of, send us an email and we will send you the sign up link along with a discount code to cover the amount you have been granted. If further payment is required, it will ask for this on the payment section of the sign up link.
