Double delight for four teams as Lord’s Taverners Junior League gets underway
Scottish Wizards, North Wales Knights, CWBA and London Titans all ended Round 1 unbeaten as the 2019/20 Lord’s Taverners Junior League began.
All four teams ended the opening weekend top of their respective Pool after winning both their Round 1 fixtures.
In Pool A, Scottish Wizards began their campaign with a 60-43 victory over Wakefield Whirlwinds, before following their opening game triumph with a 15-point win over Pool A hosts Tees Valley Titans (50-35).
Wakefield Whirlwinds were victorious in the opening game of Pool A, beating Tees Valley Titans 36-52.
Also, on Saturday, last year’s finalists North Wales Knights showcased their strength once again, winning both of their opening games of the 2019/20 competition in Pool B.
After watching Vikings beat the hosts Jaguars 27-48 in the first fixture of the day, North Wales Knights triumphed 50-24 over Vikings, before returning to the court 30 minutes later to beat Jaguars 42-66.

Fletchlings won 32-31 to secure second spot in Pool C heading into February’s Round 2.
In Pool D, London Titans top the Pool after two wins from two in Round 1. After starting the day with a 17-78 victory over hosts Aces, a much closer game followed against Thames Valley Kings.
