Pride Park has a high sporting pedigree and is in a great central location, providing an ideal venue for the pinnacle event of our domestic season. We’re confident that the facilities have an excellent standard of accessibility for competitors as well as spectators, and that the court is ready for high intensity wheelchair basketball.

“As the standard in the National League grows, we want to replicate that by elevating the quality of the National Championship Finals to provide the very best atmosphere for our teams.”

DYNAMIK, British Wheelchair Basketball’s Official Sports Flooring Partner, installed the court surface at Derby Arena and are responsible for maintaining it to world-class standards.

The DYNAMIK sports floor is a high-performance, area-elastic fully sprung system built on a multi-layer timber DYNAMIK sprung undercarriage, allowing for the floor to perform to top-levels of performance and protection. It is finished with a solid synthetic surface designed to mirror the feel of traditional timber in rolling and slip resistance.

Tested to EN14904, the system meets all European standards and achieves area-elastic performance status, ideal for wheelchair sports due to consistent rolling resistance.

The seamless DYNAMIK PU surface, as used in Derby Arena, offers high indentation and impact resistance, supporting both sports and non-sports use. The court adds value to the playing experience due to its fast, smooth feel without the unwanted fatigue caused by softer, cushioned floors or those with joints or gaps between boards.

DYNAMIK are UK leaders within the sports surfacing industry due to their expertise and knowledge of indoor sports and the interaction athletes have with flooring, walling and equipment. DYNAMIK have been partners to BWB for over seven years and have worked closely with leading sports testing consultancies and BWB to achieve ideal surfaces and systems for this demanding wheelchair sport. Having a partnership with a company that can provide a range of surfaces and maintenance, or aftercare services allows interaction between our clubs, facilities allowing DYNAMIK to create more suitable venues for wheelchair basketball to take place without compromising performance, safety or player perception.

Event details, including ticketing and schedule, will be released in the coming months. Follow British Wheelchair Basketball on social media to keep up to date!
