British Wheelchair Basketball extends eligibility review deadline
British Wheelchair Basketball has extended the deadline for the receipt of documents for the Eligibility Review of athletes with classifications 4.0, 4.5 and athletes with specific medical conditions to 30th September 2020.
The decision has been made due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and BWB’s continued commitment to the wellbeing of members.
It is hoped that this extension will allow more time to access the services needed to obtain medical records, however the deadline will be reviewed alongside government guidance.
What next?
Athletes who were contacted about the review in April 2019 will now have until 30th September 2020 to submit the required medical documentation.
It is likely that some athletes will already have medical documentation which explains their diagnosis, prognosis and loss of function. If this is the case and you are able to, you can still send the information to [email protected].
Documents can be submitted anytime up until the 30th September deadline. Please password protect documents or send via alterative secure methods.
The extension to the Eligibility Review deadline follows the original announcement in March 2019 which can be read here.
