British Wheelchair Basketball announces two new board members
British Wheelchair Basketball are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Foster and Geoff Hopkinson to the board.
Mark Foster joins as Finance & Risk Director, with broad skills in growth, strategy and risk management. Mark has a diverse background in finance and operations for a range of regulated groups, as well as 14 years as a professional athlete.
Geoff Hopkinson joins as Non-Executive Independent Director, bringing experience from a background in corporate and commercial finance alongside a proud career in the Royal Marines.
Jules Parke-Robinson, Chair of the Board, commented:
“I’m delighted to welcome Mark and Geoff to the Board! Mark, as the new Chair of the Finance and Risk advisory group, brings a wealth of experience and strategic insights that will bolster our governance, resilience, and sustainable growth. Geoff, with his financial expertise and background in leadership and change management, will be instrumental in supporting our new 2025 strategy, aimed at making wheelchair basketball an every day sport.”
Alongside welcoming new members to the board, British Wheelchair Basketball extend their immense gratitude to Sam Whale who departs after reaching full term on a dedicated eight years with BWB.
Emma Calvert, previously Finance & Risk Director, has moved into a Non-Executive Independent Director role.
