A formidable figure with extensive reach, GB’s Lee Manning is a force to be reckoned with on any wheelchair basketball court.
Peterborough’s Lee Manning started playing wheelchair basketball in 2005 after a taster session at his school.
Just three months after joining local club Peterborough Phoenix, the 4.5 player soon earned his first call-up for GB Juniors, representing Great Britain at the 2006 U22 European Championships.
After success with the junior GB teams and on the domestic scene, Lee made the move into the senior team and made his debut for the GB Men at the 2014 World Championships.
At GB’s historic title winning 2018 World Championships, Lee secured multiple opportunities for the GB Team’s advancement through the tournament as a key point scorer and under the opposition basket.
Outside of playing, Lee is a qualified wheelchair basketball coach and enjoys passing on his knowledge and experience to junior athletes.
Lee made history at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, winning bronze with Team England in the first ever appearance of wheelchair basketball in a Commonwealth Games.
