IWBF Europe has awarded British Wheelchair Basketball the hosting rights for the 2027 European Championships, with the prestigious competition set to be hosted in the vibrant city of Liverpool.
Applications open for Performance Pathway Coach Development Programme
As part of ambitious plans to grow the pathways for athletes across our sport, British Wheelchair Basketball have opened applications to be part of the Performance Pathway Coach Development Programme.
The programme will run from January to December in 2023 and is designed to equip aspiring performance coaches with the necessary skills and abilities for coaching at an elite level.
The Programme will begin with an in-person day on Tuesday 10th January 2023 in Loughborough, and will be a combination of online workshops with topics such as:
- Knowing self
- Athlete Development Curriculum
- Performance Planning
- Session design
- Generating feedback
Participants will benefit from peer supervision, individual session observation, and guided action planning throughout the programme. At the end of the year, participants will come together for an in-person day in December to finish the programme (date TBC).
Please note you must be available to attend both in person dates and engage for the full duration of the programme.
You must have a Level 2 coaching qualification in order to take part in the programme.
You must be willing to give 10-20 hours of coaching/delivery into the Pathway over the course of a season.
