Final preparations for the rapidly approaching Paris 2024 Paralympic Games are firmly underway for the GB Men and GB Women squads as the IWBF have confirmed the field of competitors we’ll face in just over four months.
Both GB Men and GB Women confirmed their places at the 2023 IWBF European Championships, having successfully qualified by securing the win in the semi-finals and reaching the final against Spain and Netherlands respectively.
The GB Men’s team were undefeated at the European Championships, their most recent major, and have continued to build through intense training and friendlies. GB Women, who claimed silver, have been pushing hard to raise the level of their game ready for the challenges ahead in Paris.
The global wheelchair basketball community has been watching eagerly to see which teams will represent at the Games in the final qualification events. In the Men’s competition, Netherlands, Germany, Canada and France secured their places at the Paris 2024 Repechage in Antibes, France. In the Women’s repechage, Japan, Canada, Germany, and Spain claimed their invite to the Games.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games get underway on the 28th August, with the first wheelchair basketball games taking place on the 29th through to the final day of the Games on the 8th September. We can’t wait to get started!
