Amivel Reyes Gutierrez (Abdi Jama, Kyle Marsh) were successful in the Qualification Tournament for EuroCup 2025, earning their place at next year’s EuroCup 3 competition. Amivel won their opening games 77:24 against Braga BCR, 43:80 over D. Junior Team Sassari, and 76:45 against BWB National League team Mohawks. Both Abdi Jama and Kyle Marsh featured on the All-star Five for the competition!

Bidaideak Bilbao (James MacSorley) and Rhine River Rhinos (Jim Palmer) competed in the EuroCup 1 Final. Bidaideak Bilbao (James MacSorley) won their opening game 75:69 against Santo Stefano, and their second game 63:69 against Fenerbahce Gokel Celik of Türkiye. On the second day, they suffered their first defeat of the competition by German side Koln 99ers, 58:67.Bidaideak Bilbao would meet Rhine River Rhinos in the quarter-finals, where they’d win 73:55. Progressing to the final, Bidaideak Bilbao narrowly lost out on first place to Fenerbahce Gokel Celik in a thrilling 78:75 conclusion to the tournament.
Rhine River Rhinos (Jim Palmer) won their opening game 57:76 against Deco Metalferro Amicacci Abruzzo, and their second game 79:42 against German league rivals Interwetten Sitting Bulls. On day two, Rhine River Rhinos were defeated 80:64 by ACE Gran Canaria. In the 3rd/4th place playoff, ACE Gran Canaria would claim another win, defeating the German side 71:60.
In the EuroCup 2 Finals, Briantea 84 Cantù (Sophie Carrigill) stormed through the opening stages with a 60:48 win over French team Hornets Le Cannet, and a 52:64 victory over German side Hannover United. Carrigill’s side would suffer their first defeat in a close 55:58 game against Les Aigles Du Velay. Undeterred, Cantù would win their quarter final 55:66 against Italian league rivals Dinamo Lab Banco Di Sardegna. In the final, Cantù narrowly lost 49:51 to German side Hannover United to claim second place in EuroCup 2.
In EuroCup 3, BWB National League team Sheffield Steelers (Maddie Thompson) and UCAM Murcia (Lee Fryer, Peter Cusack) competed for the prestigious title.
UCAM Murcia got the party started with a 47:74 win over Fundación Aliados and a 73:26 win over PDM Treviso. In their third game of the weekend, UCAM Murcia would win 72:82 against TSK Rehab Merkezi Engelliler Spor Kulübü. In the quarter finals, UCAM Murcia won 84:74 over Gazisehir Gaziantep Sport Club. Rounding out a thoroughly successful weekend for the side, UCAM Murcia delivered a comprehensive performance in the final to win 91:70 over Izmir BSB. Lee Fryer featured on the All-star Five for the competition.
Sheffield Steelers opened strong with a 58:65 win over Spanish team Iberconsa Amfiv. Turkish side Izmir BSB would claim the win 48:72 in Steelers second game of the day. On day three, Steelers would suffer a 79:93 defeat by Gazisehir Gaziantep Sport Clup. In their final game of the competition, Steelers would claim sixth place after TSK Rehab Merkezi Engelliler Spor Kulübü won 73:65 in their 5th/6th playoff.

Next weekend sees the Champions Cup Final, where several GB athletes will be competing at the highest level of EuroCup action to claim the title for their clubs. The four clubs competing will be Amiab Albacete (Harry Brown, Simon Brown, Ben Fox, Lee Manning, Charlotte Moore, Phil Pratt), CD Ilunion (Gregg Warburton, Terry Bywater), and German teams RSV Lahn-Dill and RSB Thuringia Bulls.
