The second season of the 2022/23 BUCS wheelchair basketball competition gets started this weekend, with several universities across the country taking to the courts.
Wheelchair basketball joined the BUCS roster last year as the first fully inclusive team sport on the programme, and saw an exciting final fixture at the BUCS Big Wednesday in March 2022.
The competition is staged in a pool format, with three pools across the country – Northern, Midlands, and Southern. Each University will host a round for their pool.
After the pool stage, the competition will then progress to the quarter-finals and semi-finals with each knockout tie played in a home and away format. The two finalists will then go head-to-head in the final which will be hosted during the exciting BUCS Big Wednesday 2022 alongside finals from other sports on the BUCS programme.
The universities taking part in the competition are:
Northern Tier: Durham University, University of Hull, Newcastle University
Midlands Tier: Loughborough University, University of Worcester, University of Nottingham
Southern Tier: Brunel University London, Cardiff Metropolitan University, University of East London, Plymouth Marjon University.
