British Wheelchair Basketball are deeply saddened to hear the very sad news of the passing of Tony Hooper.

Tony was a stalwart of British Wheelchair Basketball as both an international referee, leader of the GB Wheelchair Basketball Officials Association, and Coach.

Tony coached both the GB Men and Women, including coaching the GB Women at the Paralympics in Seoul, South Korea in 1988.

Tony encouraged many table officials and referees both nationally and internationally and was a great advocate for women playing wheelchair basketball.

The thoughts of everyone at British Wheelchair Basketball are with Tony’s family and friends at this incredibly sad time.
