1. Who are the Level 1 and Level 2 coaching courses suitable for?
These courses are designed for anyone looking to develop their coaching skills. Level 1 is ideal for new or aspiring coaches who want to support coached sessions. Level 2 is aimed at coaches who are ready to lead their own sessions and take on greater responsibility.
No previous experience is required for Level 1, and Level 2 builds naturally on what you learn at Level 1.
2. What will I learn during the course?
You’ll gain a mix of practical coaching skills and theoretical understanding, including:
- How to plan and deliver safe, inclusive and engaging sessions
- Technical and tactical knowledge relevant to the sport
- How to support players of different ages, abilities and experience levels
- Effective communication and leadership skills
- Each course blends online learning (where relevant) with practical assessments to help you grow in confidence and competence
3. What are the entry requirements for each level?
Level 1: Open to anyone aged 16+ with an interest in coaching.
Level 2: You’ll need to have completed a BWB recognised Level 1 coaching qualification (or equivalent experience) before progressing.
4. How do I complete the qualification?
Our tutors support you throughout the process to make sure you feel prepared and confident. To pass the course, you’ll need to:
- Attend all sessions (online and/or in person)
- Complete the required coursework and e-learning
- Demonstrate practical coaching competency during assessments.

6. What is a Community Activators Award?
A Community Activators Award is an introduction to coaching course which is completed online. This will give you the basic understanding of how to plan and deliver inclusive grassroots sessions. This is suitable for anyone wanting to help out in development sessions and Inspire Leagues alongside another qualified coach.
