Favourite aspect of your job:
The variety – I deal with everything ranging from finance queries, organising the training camps for our athletes, taking minutes in meetings, and ordering kit, to name a few! I’m very organised so I think this role fits well into that remit, plus I’m a keen runner so enjoy the sporting aspect of it.
Career Highlight:
I was very fortunate to work in the travel industry for 20 years so there have been many but if I had to name one – then possibly seeing Red Square for the first time though I’m also very passionate about Italy so every trip there was always a treat.
Career background:
I originally wanted to be a mermaid but there wasn’t much call for those so I’ve done a variety of jobs – au pair, cat sitting in Italy, Tour Guide, Ski rep and for many years I was creating holiday packages and contracting hotels. Since tiring of all the travel I’ve been largely office based in a variety of administrative roles.
Education/Training:
10 O Levels in a variety of subjects ranging from Sociology to Home Economics (I still bake a decent cake) and Italian.
Advice for anyone thinking about a career in your role:
Just follow your heart – it’s important to enjoy what you do and surround yourself with great people.
