Favourite aspects of your job: Working closely as a team to strengthen wheelchair basketball as an inclusive sport and celebrating everyone from participation to performance level.

Career Highlights: School Games 2022 was a particular highlight for me, working in different areas of the event, from media and live stream commentary to event logistics and court management.

Overall, being able to contribute to a player’s journey through wheelchair basketball is definitely a career highlight for me.

Career Background: I worked full-time for three years before going to university. Within this time, I completed a Level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration. I have now completed my first two years at University of Gloucestershire and am beginning my journey in disability sport at British Wheelchair Basketball for my placement year.

Education/Training:

  • Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
  • Currently working towards a BA Sport Business Management undergraduate degree.

Advice for anyone thinking about a career in your role: My advice is to take every opportunity you can – it can be difficult to know if new opportunities are going to be right for you without stepping out of your comfort zone and taking a leap into the unknown.
