National School Sport Week at Home

The Youth Sport Trust’s annual National School Sport Week is this year being opened-up to parents and families and reinvented as National School Sport Week at Home.

Taking place from Saturday 20 June to next Friday 26 June, the UK-wide campaign will give families, communities, schools and sports clubs the chance to capture the enjoyment, competition and camaraderie they have been missing out on during weeks of school closures and social distancing.

British Wheelchair Basketball will be taking part in the week by sharing a different wheelchair basketball related activity for each of the five ‘school days’ during the campaign, so you can challenge your friends and family with fun, inclusive challenges.

Monday 22 June – #StayInWorkOut

Join Ella for a seated workout to get ready for the week of challenges ahead!

No equipment is needed and it’s a workout the whole family can do – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqFPbZpJW3w

Tuesday 23 June – Push Yourself

Push, run or walk – pick a distance, set a target time and see if you can beat it!

Challenge your friends; share a photo/video of you completing it!

Wednesday 24 June – Skill School

Watch a training drill and impress your friends and family with new skills and tricks!

Add an extra challenge – see who can do the most in 60 seconds?

Thursday 25 June – Shooting Challenge

Who will be the top-scorer?

Whether it’s a ball into a basketball basket…paper into a bin…or socks into a bucket, how many baskets can you score in 30 seconds?

Friday 26 June – Share your video!

Share your video telling us what you love about school sport!

Follow and join in the conversation on social media using @YouthSportTrust #NSSWtogether and don’t forget to tag @BritWheelBBall in your posts!
