Biography

British Wheelchair Basketball’s National League Club Cheshire Phoenix’s Most Valuable and Most Improved Player for 2016/17, Niamh Horan has had an incredible couple of years since being introduced to the sport in 2015.

The Women’s League Angels of the North player was first selected for the GB Junior Women’s Training Squad in March 2018 and wore the GB vest for the first time at the Continental Clash the same year.

A college sport student, Niamh one day hopes to represent her nation at a Paralympics. The 2018 U24 Europeans Gold medal win marked Niamh’s first international appearance for GB.

Niamh shared a saying she holds dear: Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I’m possible

Niamh’s selection to the Women’s Team for the 2021 European Championships in Madrid marks her senior debut for GB.

In 2021, Niamh was part of the history-making Loughborough Lightning squad as they won the first ever BWB Women’s Premier League title.
