Our U14 and U18 champions have been decided at the RGK National Junior Championships 2024!

Two days in Worcester packed with basketball action and loud supporters has concluded with U14s and U18s champions being crowned for the 2023/24 season at the RGK National Junior Championships.

The Bear Cubs won the U14s competition after a weekend full of fun fixtures where the young players showed how much they enjoyed working together on-court. Scotland claimed silver, and Cymru won bronze.

Players were awarded their medals by GB Paralympians Gregg Warburton and Jade Atkin.

The ‘Fair Play’ award is an honour decided by the team coaches and officials and is awarded to the U14s player who demonstrated the best sportsmanship across the weekend. Emily Small of Yorkshire won this award for her positive attitude throughout the weekend.

In the tightly contested U18s competition, England Central emerged victorious after a weekend of challenging matches. Scotland took home silver, and England North claimed bronze.

Henley Cavanagh of England North was named MVP of the tournament, voted on by the U18s coaches.

Coaches were also asked to vote for their ‘All-Star 5’ team of the tournament. The top 5 players emerged as; Henley Cavanagh, Finlay Dowdeswell, Shayne Humphries, Finlay Erskine, and Elana Brand.
