Professor Philip Wilson announced his decision to step down as Chair of the British Wheelchair Basketball board on Tuesday 25th February 2020.
Since his appointment as Chair in November 2018, Philip has made a significant contribution to the sport, driving a review of the Board’s membership recruiting new independent non-executive directors, and has been instrumental in supporting the CEO and the wider team to deliver the British Wheelchair Basketball’s new 5 year strategy.
Philip’s own professional commitments have necessitated his decision to step down as Chair, however he will remain on the board as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board.
The Board of Directors have appointed Independent Non-Executive Director Jules Parke-Robinson to take up the position as Interim Chair of the Board with immediate effect. Jules has an extensive professional background in the Military specialising in leadership, change management, governance and people development. Jules received the Queen’s Commendation for Valuable Service in 2014 during her service as Head of Military Police among British Forces in Afghanistan.
