Season-high points totals for Kyle Marsh and Simon Brown in Europe

Kyle Marsh and Simon Brown both posted their highest points tallies of the 2019/20 season as British players continued their club seasons in Spain, Italy and Germany.

Marking the first gameweek of 2020 in Spain, it was a successful return to action for Marsh, who top-scored with 23 points to help BSR Amiab Albacete to a 90-32 victory over CB Las Rozas FDI.

After posting a season-high points tally last time out, Harry Brown picked-up where he left off in 2019, scoring 19 points, along with nine assists and eight rebounds. Lee Manning added 12 points for Albacete, who remain just one point behind league leaders CD Ilunion in Division de Honor.

Terry Bywater’s CD Ilunion continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 66-39 win against Fundacion Vital Zuzenack, making it 10 wins from 10 games for CD Ilunion.

Phil Pratt, Gregg Warburton and Ben Fox all scored 13 points as Mideba Extremadura lost 82-48 to Bidaideak Bilbao. Mideba still hold a top-four play-off place, with five wins this season, level on points with James MacSorley’s Gran Canaria.

Gran Canaria closed the gap on Mideba thanks to a 63-47 victory against Iberconsa Amfiv with Lewis Edwards and Sam Mack both featuring for Amfiv.

Thomas Smith began 2020 with four points and nine rebounds as his Rincon Dental Amivel side narrowly lost to Fundacion Grupo Norte, 65-59.

In Germany, Simon Brown scored a season-high 13 points as he returned to action for RSV Lahn-Dill as they beat RBB Munchen Iguanas 82-43.

The victory confirms RSV Lahn-Dill’s place in this season’s German play-offs, with Brown’s side level on points with league leaders RSB Thuringia Bull, who have played a game less.

Jim Palmer’s Rhine River Rhinos Wiesbaden lost 72-59 away to the league leaders; with Palmer scoring six points for Rhine River Rhinos.

In Italy, Martin Edwards top-scored with 30 points, but his points total wasn’t enough to stop his SSD Santa Lucia team losing 64-78 to second-placed Porto Torres. Edwards also recorded a game-high 10 rebounds.

Ian Sagar scored 16 points as Special Sport Bergamo lost 50-72 to Italian leaders S. Stefano Avis.
