GB’s Terry Bywater topped the Spanish points standings for the fifth time this season as his 29 points helped CD Ilunion continue their unbeaten start to the Spanish League.
Bywater’s latest tally takes his points total to over 250 points for the eight gameweeks so far this season, with a clash with fellow unbeaten side BSR Amiab Albacete next on the calendar.
Albacete maintained their 100 per cent winning record with a hard-fought win over Fundación Grupo Norte.
GB players contributed 49 of Albacete’s 77 points as they won 77-72 to make it eight wins from eight.
Lee Manning continued his good start to the season, top-scoring for Albacete with 19 points, whilst also totalling a game-high 11 rebounds.
Kyle Marsh posted his second-highest points tally of the season with 18 points, while Gaz Choudhry and Harry Brown added eight and four points, respectively.
Elsewhere in Spain, Lewis Edwards and Sam Mack helped Iberconsa Amfiv beat Mideba Extremadura 70-65. Edwards scored 17 points to continue his good form after scoring 18 points last time out.
Ben Fox was the top-scoring British player for Mideba, scoring 14 points, while Phil Pratt, Abdi Jama and Gregg Warburton all added four points to Mideba’s total.
Thomas Smith scored eight points for Rincon Dental Amivel as they lost 43-68 to Bidaideak Bilbao.
There was a head-to-head battle between Martin Edwards and Ian Sagar in Italy; with Edwards posting the highest score of the game (31 points) to help Santa Lucia Roma beat Special Bergamo Sport Montello 69-59.
Ian Sagar top-scored for Bergamo with 26 points.
In Germany, Simon Brown was part of an RSV Lahn-Dill side which advanced through to the semi-finals of the DRS Cup after beating Jim Palmer’s Rhine River Rhinos Wiesbaden 83-45 in Sunday’s quarter-finals.
Brown scored eight points, while Palmer added four for Rhine River Rhinos.
