Terry Bywater and Gaz Choudhry continue to shine in Spain

GB’s Terry Bywater and Gaz Choudhry scored more than 80 points between them as they topped the points scoring charts in the Spanish League on Saturday (2 November). 

Carrying on from his impressive form last weekend, Bywater scored a weekend-high of 43 points for CD Ilunion as they beat Iberconsa Amfiv 57-75. The five-time Paralympian’s latest points haul takes his season’s total to 87 points after three games. 

Lewis Edwards scored six points for Amfiv with Sam Mack also featuring for the home side. 

Only Bywater’s total bettered Gaz Choudhry’s 39 points as GB players scored 68 of the 90 points BSR Amiab Albacete scored in their win over Thomas Smith’s Rincon Dental Amivel side. 

As well as scoring 39 points, Choudhry also contributed with 10 assists, taking his points and assists to 80 and 25, respectively, this season. 

Lee Manning added 20 points to Albacete’s total as well as seven assists, with Harry Brown and Kyle Marsh scoring five and four points, respectively. 

Abdi Jama top-scored with 22 points for Mideba Extremadura as GB players scored all of Mideba’s 70 points in their 70-65 victory over Fundacion Grupo Norte. 

Phil Pratt and George Bates both scored 14 points as they continue to add to their season totals, with Pratt also collecting 13 rebounds and 14 assists. The reigning world and European champion’s complete all-round performance saw Pratt end the weekend in the top-three on both the rebounds and assists charts. 

Gregg Warburton added 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists to Mideba’s totals. Ben Fox scored eight points and collected six assists. 

James MacSorley scored his highest points total of the season so far, with his nine points helping Gran Canaria to a 63-67 win over Bidaideak Bilbao. 

In Germany, Simon Brown’s RSV Lahn-Dill were victorious over Jim Palmer’s Rhine River Rhinos Wiesbaden as they continued their unbeaten start to the season. Brown scored four points, while Palmer added six to his team’s tally.
