Gaz Choudhry and Terry Bywater continued their impressive scoring streaks as they helped their respective teams maintain their unbeaten starts to the Spanish season.
Bywater topped the points charts in the Spanish League for the third successive week; scoring 37 points as his CD Ilunion side beat Bidaideak Bilbao 86-80 to extend their winning start to the season.
Bywater’s latest points haul takes his tally for the season to 173 points from five games; creating an impressive average of 34.6 points per game.
Choudhry passed 100 points for the season as he top-scored in BSR Amiab Albacete’s 58-73 win over Mideba Extremadura; scoring 21 points.
Nine GB players were in action in the game in Badajoz, including four for Albacete, who continued their winning start to the season.
Kyle Marsh posted his highest points tally of the season so far with 19 for Albacete, while Lee Manning and Harry Brown scored 10 and eight points, respectively.
On the other side of the court, Phil Pratt secured his second ‘triple-double’ of the season for Mideba; securing double figures in points (11), assists (12) and rebounds (10).
George Bates top-scored for Mideba, adding 17 points to take his total for the season to 100 points.
Ben Fox scored 11 points – his joint-highest score this season – while Gregg Warburton added eight points and Abdi Jama six.
There was a season-high points total for Lewis Edwards as he scored 10 points in Iberconsa Amfiv’s 73-50 win over Fundacion Vital Zuzenak. Sam Mack also featured for Amfiv, totalling two assists.
James MacSorley scored six points and contributed three assists as he helped Gran Canaria to a third successive win; their latest coming against Fundacion Grupo Norte.
After not playing last weekend, Thomas Smith was back on court for Rincon Dental Amivel; scoring six points and totalling nine rebounds in their 39-51 victory over CB Las Rozas FDI.
In Italy, Martin Edwards continued his great start to the season; scoring 18 points and contributing 12 assists as SSD Santa Lucia followed-up their opening weekend win by defeating Dinamo Lab 70-52.
Ian Sagar scored 15 points to help Special Sport Bergamo secure their first win of the season with a 64-58 victory over Padova Millennium Basket.
In Germany, Simon Brown and Jim Palmer both scored four points as their respective teams had mixed fortunes in gameweek eight.
Brown’s RSV Lahn-Dill side secured an eighth successive league win with a 101-33 win over Roller Bulls Ostbelgien, while Palmer’s Rhine River Rhinos Wiesbaden lost 80-67 at Hannover United.
