British Wheelchair Basketball Seeks New Chair ahead of Tokyo 2020
British Wheelchair Basketball, the National Governing Body for wheelchair basketball in the United Kingdom, is recruiting for a new Chair to drive and cultivate the organisation’s ambitious strategic vision through to Tokyo 2020 and beyond.
It is an exciting time in the sport’s history with all four GB teams claiming historic international successes, the domestic leagues broadcast on a national stage, delivery of innovative participation opportunities, new commercial partnerships being forged and the sport recently launching its new brand identity (Brand Video https://youtu.be/aojLfeOJn4M).
At the helm instigating ground breaking change within the very heart of the sport is recently appointed CEO, Lisa Pearce.
In such a positive, progressive new era for wheelchair basketball in the UK, there has never been a better moment for a passionate and innovative Chair to join the organisation.
The Chair will be a strategic thinker, with a passion for sport, who is willing to devote the time and energy to help British Wheelchair Basketball.
The ideal candidate will bring a track-record of delivering excellence as a senior Board Member or Board Chair within a sporting organisation. Commercially astute, with expert knowledge of good Governance and its application in Sporting Bodies, the individual will also have knowledge, understanding and appreciation of para sport.
The Chair will work closely with dynamic CEO, Lisa Pearce, who brings with her a successful track record of driving change and attracting new income streams. Lisa comments:
