Lord’s Taverners Junior League Finalists Announced

The Sheffield Steelers and CWBA are announced as Lord’s Taverners Junior League Finalists after a day of competition at the Elite 8s.

Following an intensive day of competition at the English Institute of Sport Sheffield on Saturday 21 April 2018 two junior league teams have claimed places at the Lord’s Taverners Junior League final.

The Sheffield Steelers triumphed in their semi-final game against Junior League team Northern Ireland in what was a closely fought game 64-58. CWBA met northern team Lancaster Spinners to decide the other finalist spot, the Coventry team bought home the win with a 48-36 final score.

Both teams will now continue to compete in the Lord’s Taverners Junior League final at British Wheelchair Basketball’s National Championships on Saturday 26 May 2018.

The Elite 8s, a one day tournament saw Lord’s Taverners Junior League teams from across the UK and Northern Ireland head to Sheffield to decide the League’s final standings.

Congratulations to all teams which competed in this year’s Lord’s Taverners Junior League. The final placings of the teams are as follows:

1st / 2nd: CWBA vs. Sheffield Steelers – 26th May – EIS

3rd: Lancaster Spinners

4th: Northern Ireland

5th: Thames Valley Kings

6th: Norwich Lowriders

7th: Tornados
